A very Happy New Year to you all. I know it’s kind of late for me to wish you guys out there. Haha... So ushering the New Year with all of our resolutions, I suppose some of us are already starting on it while some of us are still working on where to begin with these resolutions. 2010 has passed by our shoulders with the wink of an eye. I still can remember vividly the first day I spent during 2010. I was in KL with my family taking a short trip there to spend some quality time with my sister-in-law who got married in Nov 2009.
The new year has been very wonderful and a enjoyable one with me and my friends, Sabri, Fazli, Atika & Rusyidia spending the night on eve of the new year, slacking overnight at Marina Bay Sands and Esplanade. The countdown to 2011 was fantastic with the usually brilliance of fireworks, the robust crowds of people around the area, the fabulous concerts and the night party dance. Check out some of the pictures that we took that night. (P.S. Many thanks to Sabri and Cammy for the wonderful camera and the photographs taken by them. And not forgetting Fazli for lending me his phone to film the whole 7mins plus fireworks scene at 12mn sharp on 01/01/11)

Meanwhile, in office, the atmosphere is still the same except with a new staffs and the return of infamous colleague of mine whom we all know that it’s the one who has been giving tons and unnecessary problems in the office. Everyone was still in the holiday mood since December 2010 has been passing by so slowly so not many assignments were given and tasks that were handed out was also an easy one. The main buzz in the office was actually the Dinner & Dance that would be organised at Zouk Entertainment Club for the first time. How exciting is this?? I so love to have a D&D at a club... There were rumours that there will be a surprise performance by my officers which I think it’s a good thing that I got the early bird ticket at only $15.
Not long after a short week, the big day came. I had to take a whole day off because I have this problem with me. When it comes to events like this, I’m often spoiled for choice as to what to wear because I don’t want to be undress nor overdress. Eventually, after deciding for almost the whole morning, I decided to wear casual smart, with my t-shirt and my blazer. Actually, it looked good for a party dress. And you know what? I don’t even know how to get there in the first place. Hah! So I decided to meet my colleague who’s from a different department at Dhoby Ghaut. From there, we took a public transport to location and met up with my other colleagues and proceeded to register ourselves at the registration booth. The door gifts were rather interesting with a special lanyard for the party and a shaker that makes a ringing sound when you shake it. There was an even a pair of movie tickets costing $10 each... Hmmm, where do I begin?
The atmosphere in Zouk wasn’t really that loud when I first entered. Everything was being prepared. The sound system, the lightings, the dance floor and the props are being ushered in slowly. Even the drink bars are still preparing the cups and goblets. As the time goes by, more entered the club and at 6:30pm sharp, the DJ appeared and started off the party with one of my senior directors officiating the beginning of the event. And so the party starts... The food was so scrumptious that I ate 4 rounds of it. There was cheese hotdogs, fried rice and noodles, salmon steak, and loads of finger foods, just to name a few. Apart from the main course, there was a kebab station located at the centre bar, chocolate and tiramisu being served at the other end of the club. I really ate to my fullest and next come the drinks.
At first, I thought the soft drinks was able to make me enjoy the party but it seems not to be working for me so I decided to try some of my own mix version of vodka with the soft drinks. I can tell you the difference once the drinks managed to loosen my nerves and I partied like a madman... It was fun having to drink such party drinks once in a while. Anyway, it was free flow so will seem to be like a waste if I don’t drink to my heart’s content. After downing each cup, gradually I can feel the effect of the alcohol getting onto my nerves. So after I drank almost to 20 cups of drinks, I was so high. I wasn’t who I usually was back in office. You would have guess that I was doing all sorts of funny things. Another friend of mine was also as drunk as me and we had loads of fun together. We partied till like 1 o’clock in the morning and my best friend had to drag me out of the club eventually because I was too drunk to the extent of doing all sorts of indecent things.
The following day, surprisingly, I didn’t have any hangover compared to my other colleagues... Hah! That only means I’m able to take my alcohol very well. Unaware about the surroundings back in the party at Zouk, something terrible came by. One of my friends drowned at the nearby river during the party time. It seemed that he was too drunk and lost his footing and fell into the big drain located between Kim Seng Road and Zion Road. From there, he drowned despite the presence of many passer-by. Alright peeps, I guess I should end the entry now as time doesn’t permit me to continue any further. Good night and take care, people.
Always stay happy.
Cheers,
Faz =D
